Brought back many memories. Maybe next Christmas we could lighten the site up a bit and get to know each other a little better by sharing our memories of Christmas 1969. I know, a few of you don't remember a thing for various reasons.

I though the most entertaining remark of the day was Betty's. We were passing around a Bowen rock and using it as a talking stick. She said "Here we are all identifying ourselves by how long we’ve been on the Island and this little rock has been her…

Sunday's BAA Openspace Workshop

On Sunday 100 Boweners gathered to discuss food: growing it, raising it, sharing it.
The big question of course is how do we start making some of our own stuff?
We have kind, skilled, bright, fun people here and their intentions are good. I intend to give them as much support and take part as much as I can.
Bless you Stu!
Here is a photo that reminded me of what happened Sunday:

Bowen's Gogo's

These (I join them when I can) are a group of organized, beautiful, cheerful women on Bowen who get together to brainstorm ideas about raising awareness and funds for 'Grandmother's to Grandmothers' a creation of the Stephen Lewis Foundation attempting to connect Canadians to Africans. After brainstorming they actually get together and do things. Here they are creating cool stuff for the Bowen Christmas Craft Fair.

Hi Sally -- thanks for the welcome. Caledon Ontario has about 70,000 people, but nearly half of them live in one small part, and Caledon is far and away the largest municipality (in square km) of the Greater Toronto Area. By comparison, for example, the two neighbouring municipalities, Mississauga and Brampton, have a combined population of over a million people in an area that combined is significantly smaller than Caledon's. So the development pressure is absolutely fierce.

Sorry I'm late in acknowledging your 'friend' note, Wasn't aware that I had to accept it and thought it was automatic - luddite that I so often prove myself to be

Always lots going on at Council Meetings...things you could never anticipate. There is a tectonic shift happening in the way things are being done. I will leave the prognostication to others. :)

Hi Sally. No it is not an automatic weapon although, now that you mention it, the way I cropped the image gives it a Rambo kind of jeu n'est qua.

Actually, what I am hunking around in the photo is a Steadicam. Took an Steadicam Operator's course back in May. I was taking a brief pause after a shoot when someone snapped this picture.

I've been jonesin' around the site and came across some really prescient material on matters Bowen. Good to see this project is taking hold.
